Due to weather, all evening Spirit Squared activities originally scheduled for the Courthouse Lawn are moving indoors to The Marc (120 E San Antonio St.) starting at 4 PM.
We’re summoning all spirits—ghoulish, glittery, and everything in between—for a full day of art, culture, and community in the heart of Downtown San Marcos! We're welcoming you to Spirit Squared, a celebration that blends spooky season fun with the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos.

10 AM – 6 PM | Community Ofrenda Drop Off & Downtown SMTX Info Booth @ San Marcos Farmers Market
Bring a photo copy of a loved one to honor by placing on the ofrenda. The ofrenda will be carefully packed and moved inside the Hays County Historic Court House to be on display through Dia de los Muertos. Pick up can be arranged after the celebration. -
11 AM – 5 PM | Downtown Business Activities @ Participating Businesses listed below
Stop by 16 participating businesses for hands-on fun like painting your own Día de los Muertos mask and other themed crafts and activities. -
4 PM – 7 PM | Sugar Skull Face Painting @ The Marc
Get your calavera look just right before the evening festivities begin! -
6 PM | Ofrenda Ceremony @ The Marc
A heartfelt moment to honor those who came before us. -
6:30 PM | Music by Los Gatos 512 @ The Marc
Let the rhythms carry you into the night. -
7 PM | Movie: Coco @ The Marc
Cozy up indoors with free popcorn and a film that celebrates family, memory, and music.
