San Marcos Studio Tour

Art lovers and artists alike will love exploring colorful and creative San Marcos during the San Marcos Studio Tour. This free, self-guided tour will feature more than 50 artists across San Marcos, Martindale, and surrounding areas. Artists will be showcasing their studio spaces and artwork during this inspiring and interactive weekend-long occasion. You will get an insider’s look into the artistic creative process - the messy workspaces, the paint-splattered floors, the at-home and garage studios, the cluttered art supplies, the inspirational walls of reference photos, and the clay-ridden wheels. These environments, though sometimes unpolished, are where the magic happens and creativity flourishes.
Alignmentality

Hays County Historic Courthouse
An immersive, illuminated artwork will light up the Downtown Square leading up to the April 8 solar eclipse. Commissioned by the San Marcos Arts Commission, the project, Alignmentality, is a collaboration of three local artists. VR artist Topher Sipes, multi-media painter Alicia Philley, and projection artist Jasna Boudard have created a watery, abstract animation using the vivid colors from five of Philley’s paintings. The 24-minute artwork will run for five cycles each evening, offering a communal and fleeting experience that honors the solar eclipse and the San Marcos River. There is also a complimentary projection installation at Mothership Studios, April 5-7 during the San Marcos Studio Tour.
Just For Fun Parade

Begins at Children's Park
Celebrating their 46th year, the Just for Fun Parade is exactly what it sounds like, a parade for no other purpose than to have fun. Bust out your wildest outfit and get ready to join the parade! Meet everyone by Children's Park at 9am to walk, ride, pedal, or roll your way towards Downtown on CM Allen Parkway. Rather just watch? The parade starts at 10am. Line the streets on the Square and bring all your friends to watch a little Saturday morning craziness.

Get your groove on with this free, family-friendly concert series in Downtown San Marcos. The event takes place on Fridays in May at the Hays County HistoricCourthouse. Guests are encouraged to order to-go from a local business and bring a chair, blanket, and drinks (no glass)!
