Whether you're looking for a little pep in your step before a San Marcos adventure, or a place to sit and relax for a while with a specialty beverage, there are lots of great coffee shops here in San Marcos!
Downtown Coffee Shops
Babe's Doughnut & Coffee
Mmmm Babe's... While this picturesque spot has some really excellent coffee options, you're going to want to come here when you're hungry! Doughnuts, kolaches, breakfast sandwiches, and more, are some of their top-notch breakfast options. Coffee lovers will love the Sweetcream Cold Brew or the Honey Lavender Latte.
The Coffee Bar
The Coffee Bar is a San Marcos staple! Pick a spot in front of the windows for excellent people watching or even enjoy your beverage at a bistro set on the sidewalk to soak up all the Downtown San Marcos atmosphere. You can't go wrong with any of the specialties but we always recommend getting one of their super unique seasonal specials while they have them!
Jo's Cafe is a really laid-back and atmospheric spot just a few blocks away from the heart of Downtown. With lots of breakfast and lunch options, you can really kick back, fuel up, and stay awhile at Jo's Cafe. They, of course, have all the classic coffee drinks, but they also have candy bar-inspired specialties that can't be missed. Milky Way beverage, anyone?
If you're serious about your coffee, Redbud Roasters is a must-stop! Redbud coffee is created from certified fair trade, organic, shade-grown coffee beans from all over the world. Oh and make sure you buy a bag or two of their roasted beans to go home with you. We guarantee you're going to want to enjoy the sips of San Marcos long after your San Marcos adventure is over.
Stellar Coffee Co
You're going to feel right at home at Stellar Coffee Co! In addition to good coffee (that spiced chocolate mocha, y'all!) Stellar is a great spot for live music, open mic nights, and even happy hour specials. The Stellar slogan is "Good humans, great vibes" and that definitely rings true.
Around Town Coffee Shops
Dos Gatos (Wonder World)
Mmmm, Dos Gatos is kolache heaven. From unique flavors like meatball and sausage with sauerkraut to traditional fruit-topped Czech favorites - Dos Gatos is a fantastic breakfast classic. While the kolaches are the main draw, their coffee menu is also terrific. Frappes, lattes, and a whole slew of flavor combinations - every coffee lover is sure to find something tasty.
Come for the colorful San Marcos mural outside and stay for the delicious coffee inside! This picture-perfect cafe has unique, sweet flavors like a Cookie Butter Latte, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Latte, and Blueberry Muffin Latte! In addition to their coffee beverages, you can also find unique drinks like the Red Bull Slushie or super colorful "rainbow drinks" made with ingredients like butterfly pea powder, purple sweet potato powder, and turmeric powder.
Lamppost Coffee has espresso, tea, cold brew, hot coffee and yummy breakfast specials. We suggest the Lamba Latte or Espresso Milkshake for a unique treat and a Rosemary Sea Salt Bagel - yum!
Lazydaze Coffeeshop is an Amsterdam-style coffee shop that specializes in CBD coffee and tea. They also have an array of other CBD products to shop.
Mochas and Javas (N. LBJ) & Mochas and Javas (Wonder World)
Mochas and Javas has several locations here in San Marcos, with one being a kiosk inside the big HEB, so you can get your caffeine fix no matter what part of town you're exploring. Enjoy one of their crafted classics or treat yourself to one of their frozen chinos. That Matcha-Chino and a breakfast sandwich is calling our name...
Summer Moon Coffee
What makes Summer Moon unique is its wood-fired coffee roasting and decadent Moon Milk. What is Moon Milk? It's Summer Moon's signature sweet cream that complements the oak-roasted undertones of the coffee. And trust us, you're going to want to try it!
Wake The Dead Coffee House
Wake The Dead is such a cool little coffee house here in San Marcos. The funky Tim Burton-esque house has more than just coffee to entice you. They have more than 55 imported and domestic beers, wine, and a great food menu! You'll also want to keep their events on your radar, like comedy shows, poetry nights, live music, and art receptions.
